Just like in the noon movies, there is a small family sweet shop in our village. It is cozy and neat, with its 3-4 tables and bouquets of dried lavender.
Rarely do you see her window full, but that’s because every passerby along ul. Assen Gargov 27, must stop by to sweeten their day and get a dose of joy.
If you are going to visit us, even if there is no significant reason, we recommend you to contact the home confectionery “Maggie and Mindizovi “and order the goodies in advance. It is good to do it at least 4-5 days in advance. Especially if you are planning a Saturday to enjoy their goodies keep in mind that it is market day in our village and all the people stop by the sweet shop. Usually by 12pm, the woman serving the customers is already smiling sweetly at us and regretting that they have nothing left. Well, sometimes we are lucky – then we take from everything available.
The cakes at Maggie and Mindizovi’s home bakery are always fresh, juicy and melt-in-the-mouth. They rely on classic recipes reminiscent of the pasties of yore. There are never leftovers for the next day and you always purchase something just made.
I can share with you what our top 3 sweet delights are, but we always add something else when we stop by. Not to be missed: cherry cheesecake, mascarpone and caramel cake, chocolate truffle. We rarely hit their eclairs, but we never miss them because they’re made with homemade buttercream. And the rocks – we stab them, by the way, as we walk to the cottage.
